I first saw the Earthbox when i was Google Image searching for planted pots. One of the pictures was this rectangle pot, and i thought that was smart because there would be more room to plant compared to the normal circle pot. I clicked on the link to the website the picture came from and it was some guys blog. He had multiple pictures of this planting box and one of the captions was "My Earthbox". So i thought "cool i'll Google Earthbox", and I did. ( www.Earthbox.com ) and man was i happy i did! It ended up being so much more than just a simple rectangular planters box. As you can see in the picture below, it is ingeniously simple. I instantly wanted one.
So i called my local nursery and found out they carry them. About five days ago we went and got one (it came with the organic 7-7-7 fertilizer, 1 lb. bag of Dolomite and pack of four casters/wheels), along with a bail of Pro-Mix-BX potting media. I learned about it on the Earthbox forum and it is the Cadillac of potting mixes. (Pro-Mix BX is a General Purpose peat-based growing medium with vermiculite and perlite and mycorrhizae, used for cultivation of a wide variety of plant species). I got a bail 3.5 cubic ft. but its compressed so when used it will be 7 cubic ft. I have also ordered from Earthbox.com 's website: Earthbox Garden Stand, Earthbox Staking System, and the Staking System Extension Kit.
